Canal walk from Little Venice to Kingscross

This summer, I allowed myself for a sort of life break, as I mentioned in my list of things to do to be positive. It was a great opportunity to take a break, look backwards and learn from my experiences, but also an incredible opportunity to enjoy London. Luckily, it all happened during summer so I decided to make the most of The City before going home for a long 3 weeks break in south of France.

I blogged from a coffee to an other, went to the gym during off peak times, did all those things I never had time to do and like if it wasn’t good enough, the London heatwave happened right at that time, so I decided to do a great walk in London. Something I had never done before. Something as good as the weather we had. And I went to a beautiful canal walk from Little Venice to Kingscross.

Probably one of the prettiest walk I have ever done in London.

You have a good 10 minutes ahead of you right? Coz you might need them to read the whole post.

Canal walk from Little Venice to Kingscross

It all started the weekend before. I randomly ended in a portion of the Canal I had never been in before, and felt quite ashamed of it. I play the lifestyle blogger in London and still discover must dos after 4 years. So I made a point to do the whole walk.

Sunny stroll in Little Venice

Like if this wasn’t good enough already, it all started in Little Venice, clearly one of the most beautiful place you could find in London, and even better, I started it for a coffee and an ice cream at Clifton Nurseries, one of my favourite places to eat and drink in London.

As I walk towards Little Venice, I stop by a little street and not sure why, decide to take a look. And what a surprise! I can’t believed I walked past many times and never had the curiosity to check what was hidden behind. Well, I’m really happy I did on that gorgeous sunny day though.

The kind of hidden gem that would make anyone fall in love with London.

I then arrived at Little Venice. Always so pretty, romantic and bucolic. Hard to believe we’re still in Central London.

This is all we are allowed to see walking right by the canal, but the walk form the other side of the fence is not too bad. Pretty gorgeous actually.

I suddenly end up at Cafe Laville, a place I have been meaning to try for a while. Not sure if the food is good or what kind of cuisine they do but, hey, that view over the canal is just.. Wow.

Moreover, they seem to have great brunches for unbeatable prices. Added to the list.

Marylebone and Regent’s Park

I then arrive by Marylebone. Less pretty and cute, but more a proper London vibe. All very quiet and relaxing, the sky is still bright blue. What else.

As I arrive by Regent’s Park, the decor has something a bit more chic. I start to cross path with cyclists, people strolling in London, a few house boats… Life suddenly feels to relaxing.

I then quickly arrive by Primrose Hill and soon Camden. The part of the walk I know the most. Things are going to be a bit more busy by then.

Dream terrace right?

I definitely see myself having my morning coffee over there. Who needs luxury when you can have a table a a few chairs by the London canal?

I then cross path with Amy, everyone’s favourite Londoner and the Queen of Camden.

Always a pleasure to walk across vibrant Camden.

This is where I generally stop that walk, so I was pretty excited to explore what was next.

The decor then becomes very different. Bucolic and cute in some parts, a bit more rough and authentic in others. It’s once again a reflection of London’s identity, always changing, and especially by Kingscross, which has been completely refurbished for the past few years.

I try to go as far as I can but time flies and it’s time to be back in real life. I wanted to reach Shoreditch but it’s only a good reason to do it again an other day.

I can now tick of box of my “London bucket list”.
